Aramid (Kevlar) Packing
Packing made of continuous 100% aramid fibres. Each single yarn is impregnated with PTFE using our exclusive “Filcoat”-process, then re-impregnated with a mix of PTFE and inert food-quality lubricant during braiding operation. Available in preformed packing rings, on request. 100% aramid packing fibres, very high mechanical performance. Use for pump packing.
Specs:
1. Material Composition: Aramid fibers, such as Kevlar or Nomex, which are synthetic fibers known for their durability and resistance to abrasion.
2. Temperature Resistance: Typically, aramid fiber packing can withstand high temperatures, often up to 500°F (260°C) or more, depending on the specific formulation.
3. Chemical Resistance: It offers good resistance to a variety of chemicals, making it suitable for use in harsh environments.
4. Applications: Commonly used in pumps, valves, and other equipment where sealing is critical. It is often utilized in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and manufacturing.
5. Performance Characteristics: Aramid fiber packing is known for its low friction properties, which help reduce wear on equipment. It also provides excellent sealing capabilities, minimizing leakage.
6. Forms Available: It can be found in various forms, including braided packing, gaskets, and seals, tailored to specific applications.
Product Description:
It is a braided packing made of Aramid Fiber yarns impregnated with PTFE dispersion and treated with lubricant T his packing can bear higher pressure applications than other types of braided packing Due to its steel-like strength, this yarn can be employed separately or as back-up rings with other types of packing This packing has been developed to replace asbestos packing for pump systems It covers all the service ranges which asbestos packing provides and even much better. It affords longer service life under severe conditions which conventional asbestos packing can not provide satisfaction, such as sand sulfry, tin mining, paper slurry, feeding water pump of power stations, etc.
